ESTABLISHMENTBorongan became a City on June 20, 2007 by virtue of Republic Act 9394, the Charter of the City of Borongan. It is the capital of the province of Eastern Samar and forms part of the First Provincial Board [Sangguniang Panlalawigan] District of Eastern Samar.
